Short Essay Competition 2008
Welcome to IslamWay Sister’s 1st Short Essay Competition 2008.
Below are a list of names of 5 Great Believing Women.
The object of the competition is to choose one personality from the list and write
a short essay about her using no more than 1000 words.
There will be two categories in the contest : Teens and 20+.
Competition Rules:
• One essay per person.
• The essay MUST be your own work.
• Work must be factual not fiction.
• At least one Hadith or one Ayah must be included within the essay.
• You must include all references used for the essay, ie: hadith books, ayahs,
websites etc.
• The work must be no more than 1000 words.
• State how many words you have used.
• State which category you should be placed in ie: Teens or 20+
• Work must be pm'd to MotherDove who will then pass it onto the
Chairperson of the Voting Committee.
• A Voting Committee will decide on the best entry.
• There will be First, Second and Third Places.
• The winners will have their essays on the homepage of IslamWay Sisters and
also on the Main IslamWay page, plus a special bonus prize for First Place positions.
• Winner and Runners-Up will receive certificates and other participants will
receive blinkies with their username on it.
• All entries must be pm’d to MotherDove by November 30th 2008.
Please note: All participants will be anonymous to The Voting Committee, only MotherDove will know who sent what.
Identities will be disclosed after the judging has ended on Awards Day.
