Beauty & Health The Scourge of Thousands
Posted by administrator on Thursday, June 11 @ 17:18:56 AST (1013 reads)

    Sheikh Saalih al Humaid
    April 4, 2008 ~ Rabee al Awwal 28, 1429

All praise is due to Allah and He deserves all Praise. All that is good is in Allah’s hands and He has the power over all things. I praise Allah and thank Him for His abundant blessings and favors. I bear witness that there is no God except Allah, the only One God, who has no partner in worship. Glory be to Allah, the unique God who has no equal. I bear witness that Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is Allah’s servant and messenger. He brought us all that is good and warned us against all that is evil. Oh Allah, send your peace and blessings upon Muhammad, his family and companions, and whomever follows them in righteousness.

Oh people, I advise myself and you to fear Allah. Fear Him so that He may have mercy upon you. Hasten to do good deeds and turn unto Allah in repentance before deaths comes upon you, as no one knows the time death will come. How can a person expect to attain Jannah if he is negligent of these teachings. How can it be that one turns sincerely to Allah in repentance while he does not care about his fate in the hereafter? Indeed happiness and success are with the person who keeps in mind that Allah is Ever Watching over him.

Fellow Muslims, stand before Allah in submissiveness, pray to Him in humility, and weep tears of regret in fear. Allah says: “On the Day when every person will be confronted with all the good he has done, and all the evil he has done, he will wish that there were a great distance between him and his evil. And Allâh warns you against Himself (His Punishment) and Allâh is full of Kindness to the (His) slaves.” [Surah Ale 'Imraan: Ayah 30]

Beauty & Health Honey: The Antibiotic of the Future! Part 2
Posted by administrator on Tuesday, February 03 @ 20:43:04 AST (1933 reads)

    Nora Belfedal

Ali (raa) once said, "The Muslim is like the bee who eats only good things and only good things come from them."

Last week we learned about the benefits of honey. This week we will explore other bee products.

    Bee pollen:

Pollen is the ultra-fine powder that makes up the male element of a flower. Honeybees, who collect it, pass by poor pollen and collect only that which is nutritious and healthy. Some experts even say that the bee chooses "instinct " those good flowers. This can be explained by the verse, "And your Lord taught the bee" (16:68).

Bee pollen contains all the elements humans need in a form easily assimilated by the body. For this reason, bee pollen is called "the perfect food". Indeed, it contains all the minerals (14), vitamins (13), trace minerals, proteins, amino acids (15), enzymes, co-enzymes (over 5,000) and hormones known to man and probably many more known only to Allah (Pollen Power, p.3).

Beauty & Health Honey: The Antibiotic of the Future! Part 1
Posted by administrator on Wednesday, January 28 @ 14:13:38 AST (2426 reads)

    By Nora Belfedal

In the Qur'an, Allah says that in paradise will be "rivers of honey pure."

"Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought"(16:69).

Although honey's healing benefits were known to Muslims more than a thousand years ago, scientists are just now beginning to research it's amazing powers. Indeed, Peter Molan, biochemist at the University of Waikato (New Zealand) has - for the past 17 years - researched into the healing properties of honey and has shown scientifically that all honeys have varying degrees of such properties (Molan, p.1). Honey contains many minerals and vitamins beneficial to man. However, one of the most important properties seems to be its antibiotic action.

Beauty & Health The Sunnah with Regard to Siwak
Posted by administrator on Thursday, April 24 @ 19:02:58 AST (2826 reads)

Siwak means cleaning the mouth and teeth with a siwak, which is the name given to the tool used. The siwak is a stick or twig used for this purpose. Siwak is a method of cleaning the mouth which also earns the pleasure of Allah, as is proven in the hadith of Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Siwak cleanses the mouth and pleases the Lord.'" (al-Bukhari, Ahmad and al-Nisa'i)

Use of the siwak is repeatedly encouraged, as in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who reported that the Prophet said: "Were it not for the fact that I did not want to make things too hard for my Ummah (nation), I would have commanded them to use the siwak at every time of prayer." (al-Bukhari and Muslim). According to another report narrated by al-Bukhari, he said: "…at every time of making wudoo'."

Imam al-Nawawi reported that the respectable scholars were agreed that the use of siwak is sunnah and is encouraged. One of the signs of its importance is the fact that some of the salaf (early generations of Islam), such as Is'haq ibn Rahwayh, thought that it was obligatory.
